Your Tofino Fishing Guide
Meet Jeff Hale
Jeff Hale was born and raised in Cowichan Bay on Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
Jeff spent his childhood fishing in Tofino with his father, grandfather and uncle, who were also as passionate about catching big fish. Numerous early morning salmon fishing trips yielded countless Tyee (30lb+ Spring/Chinook) and all other species of fish.
When Jeff was 12 he hooked and landed his first salmon over 40 lbs. At that point he knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life fishing.
Jeff started taking his father’s clients out on morning salmon fishing trips in Tofino and Ucluelet at an early age, learning everything involved in being a fishing guide in Tofino. Numerous seasons employed as a salmon fishing guide were spent in Rivers Inlet, BC, chasing big Spring/Chinook and Coho and fine tuning the art of Halibut fishing.
Jeff appreciated Tofino & Ucluelet on the West Coast of Vancouver Island as quaint fishing towns with incredible beauty and wilderness. Bears, sea lions, sea otters, whales, eagles and other wildlife became very interesting to Jeff as he grew up.
Now, still as picturesque as it was in his childhood, except transformed into a tourist destination, Jeff’s home Tofino hosts one million visitors per year. The beauty of Tofino, as well as meeting his wife and raising children has made Tofino very special to him.
Jeff’s 23 years of fishing experience and as a salmon fishing guide makes him one of the top Tofino fishing guides. He looks forward to showing his clients some of the secret fishing spots that he has found over the many years as a salmon fishing guide.
